SIGGRAPH 2002 Issues a Call for Participation
(Chicago, IL- September 17, 2001) SIGGRAPH 2002 has issued a Callfor Participation for the 29th International Conference on ComputerGraphics and Interactive Techniques, which will be held 21 - 26 July,at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.Detailed information about how to participate in the conference can befound online in The Call for Participation guidebook.
"The SIGGRAPH 2002 committee has laid the foundation for the formatand styles of presentations to be shared," said Tom Appolloni, SIGGRAPH2002 Conference Chair from Harris Corporation. "Based on thisfoundation, the committee invites individuals to submit work thatdefines the cutting graphic and interactive edges in science, art,medicine, entertainment, communications, education, and other areas ofinterest in order to build the next international celebration, SIGGRAPH2002."
Appolloni also states, "SIGGRAPH 2002 has added a full Web Graphicsprogram, which is seeking the most innovative online work available.This new program is designed to assist, but not replace, traditionalofferings of the SIGGRAPH conference."
The SIGGRAPH 2002 Call for Participation is seeking both veteran andnovice contributors who work, play, and live with the latestadvancements in computer graphics and interactive techniques. Thetechnical presentation submission options include Papers, Panels,Courses, Sketches and Applications, Educators Program, new Web GraphicsProgram, and Creative Applications Lab. The conference is also seekingcontributors for the Art Gallery, Computer Animation Festival, EmergingTechnologies, sigKIDS, and Studio, whose work enables attendees toexperience the technology. In addition, it is asking for volunteers andsupport for the following services: GraphicsNet, InternationalResources, Pathfinders, and Student Volunteers.
