NY Digital Video Show Moves to Madison Square Garden
The second annual NY Digital Video Show (www.nydvshow.com) returns to NewYork City January 30 to February 1, 2003 and boasts a new and muchlarger location than in 2002: Madison Square Garden Expo Center.Expanded in 2003 to provide content beyond digital videoproduction/post, the three-day event also includes VFX World and the NYAudio Production Show. These simultaneously run events are co-locatedwith the NY DV Show. Organizers predict attendance to exceed 10,000,representing a 35% increase in attendance from 2002.
Attendees will be comprised of editors, directors, filmmakers,videographers, digital artists, and audio pros. The purpose of the showis to provide objective, distilled “how-to” technicalguidance, creative inspiration and insights, and define the buyingoptions for those working in these fields. It’s billed as theplace where “the capture, edit, design, and delivery of digitalvideo content meets audio production."
The Thursday-Saturday event presents seven technical userconferences featuring many of the leading products in the industry:Final Cut Pro and Avid editing, 3ds Max, Softimage, Maya, AfterEffects, and Pro Tools. Animators/filmmakers Don Bluth and partner GaryGoldman will give a one-day TOON-UP 2003 Animation Workshop. Thetechnical user conferences are run under the auspices of tech chair BenKozuch, president of Future Media Concepts. The NY Audio ProductionShow keynote tracks are organized by Mix journalist Paul Verna,serving as Audio Production Conference Chair.
At the center of the three-day training activity is a full-scaleexhibition where attendees will have access to hands-on demonstrationsfor hundreds of related products and will be able to attend freetraining sessions from vendors including Apple and Pinnacle. Keyexhibitors and sponsors include Apple, Avid, Discreet, Pinnacle, Canon,Sony, JVC, and Hewlett-Packard. Three simultaneous tracks ofkeynotes/industry leader panels will open to the public for each event:digital video production, visual effects/animation, and audioproduction. Admission is free to all pre-registered; $25.00 on site.The expo runs January 30 to February 1, 2003.
