Senior Broadcast Design Engineer
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Provide professional broadcast system design and execution ofbroadcast systems projects integration.

Must have demonstrated ability to do high-level conceptual designsand detailed system designs based on customer requirements.

Accurate costing and estimating of systems as designed.

Meet with project sponsors, leaders, and engineering teams to definescope of work and develop plans.

Work with vendors to obtain accurate quotes and explore options forall current technology available to fulfill the needs.

Assist Engineering management in research of new technology and forthe development of the capital budget.

The Sr. Design Engineer serves as a designer, project leader,consultant, and trainer.

The Sr. Design Engineer must be able to communicate effectively inorder to fully understand customer needs and design systems within thebudget to fulfill those needs.
A. KNOWLEDGE
-
Thorough familiarity and experience designing modern digitalbroadcast systems.
-
Knowledge of digital video, audio, RF, computer networking andcontrol systems.
Required:
-
Television Broadcast System design and engineering experience.
-
Ability to design to standard broadcast engineering methods andpractices.
-
Bachelors degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering orequivalent; or minimum 10 years related experience in televisionbroadcast systems.

PC and computer software operating skills required; Word, Excel,Visio, programs.
-
Must have the ability to accommodate the unique needs and issues ofa 24-hour operation with critical deadlines.

Must be able to organize efficiently, handle multiple tasks and workto prescribed deadlines.
Desired:
-
Multi-platform computer system skills (Windows, Linux, Unix, AppleOS, etc.) and basic network design skills preferred.

Proficiency with AutoCad and/or Visio helpful.

Must have excellent verbal and written skills.
-
Must have good people skills with the ability to work well withdiverse teams and individuals coming from different disciplines withinthe company.

Ability to do some light lifting.
-
Ability to work in tight areas such as standard broadcast equipmentracks.
