SATELLITE TRUCK ENGINEER

KTVT CBS 11 / KTXA UPN 21, the Viacom duopoly television station inDallas/Fort Worth, is seeking a Satellite Truck Engineer for ourEngineering Department. This is a full-time, non-exempt position, whichreports to our Remote Engineering Supervisor.

Position Purpose: To repair, install, maintain, and performpreventative maintenance on all remote broadcasting technicalequipment. Operates remote broadcasting vehicles as requested by RemoteEngineering Supervisor.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Operates and maintains Electronic News Gathering (ENG) and SatelliteNews Gathering (SNG) vehicles and related microwave and satelliteequipment.

• Troubleshoots electronic equipment to a system level.

• Repairs, aligns, maintains, and performs preventative maintenance onvideo equipment, audio equipment, microwave and satellite equipment,and other digital equipment.

• Establishes and maintains regular and predictable attendance.

• Must work long extended hours when the need arises.

• Five (5) years in broadcasting as an operations engineer with somemaintenance experience and the ability to trouble shoot equipmentproblems to a system level required.

• FCC General Class radiotelephone License and/or SBE BroadcastEngineer Certification preferred. Must have a valid Texas driver'slicense and commercial driver's license (CDL).

• Two year Associates Degree in Engineering or two years of technicalschool related to radio and television broadcasting preferred.

• Must have working knowledge of personal computers and varioussoftware packages, waveform and vector scopes, oscilloscopes, spectrumanalyzers, digital and analog test equipment, and various types of handtools, shop grinders, sanders, drill motors, etc.
