Customer Support Engineer - DSeries

SUMMARY
Harris Software Systems is currently seeking a Customer SupportEngineer to work primarily throughout North America. Primary jobduties include installing Harris D-Series broadcast automationsystems at customer sites and solving customer issues from a homebased office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of Harris D-Seriesautomation products. Ability to learn and retain knowledge in thefull line of Harris products is a must.

An encompassing grasp of broadcast products is required.Exemplar candidates will have a broadcast engineering backgroundand have worked in broadcast facilities as an engineer ormaintenance.

Provide technical phone support to D-Series customers when notinstalling and upgrading systems. This is required during normalbusiness hours and for after hour emergencies.

Candidates must demonstrate a proactive customer demeanor, beable to work under pressure and enjoy working in an independent,autonomous atmosphere.

This position requires frequent travel 50% to 75% of thetime.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or universityis preferred
  • At least 3 years experience maintaining the D-Series productline is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of all DAL/D-Series automation operatingsystems.
  • Linux experience is preferred.
  • A background in broadcast IT technology and how this technologyfits together within a facility is preferred.
  • A technical background with experience in computer scienceand/or electrical engineering. MCSP certifications aredesired.
  • The expertise should include familiarity with the functions ofaudio and video equipment as well as personal computer architectureand networking.
