Gentner Shareholders Approve Name Change to ClearOne Communications

Salt Lake City (November 15, 2001) -- Shareholders of GentnerCommunications Corp. (Nasdaq: GTNR) approved the board of directors'recommendation to change the company's name to ClearOne CommunicationsInc. at Gentner's annual shareholders' meeting yesterday. The namechange will take effect Jan. 1, 2002, at which time the company willbegin trading under the symbol "CLRO" on the Nasdaq stock market.Gentner's conferencing products will continue to be branded under theGentner name.

According to Frances Flood, president and chief executive officer ofGentner, the ClearOne name more effectively communicates the company'sfocus on conferencing, is more marketable to its target audiences, andbetter reflects the company's new image and growth objectives. "Thecompany today is dramatically different than when it began in 1981, andthe new name more accurately depicts all areas of our business," shesaid.

A significant difference in the company is its increased emphasis onconferencing services, a division that experienced revenue growth of98% in the most recent fiscal year. "There is great potential forcontinued growth in our services business, with a market opportunity ofabout $2 billion according to Frost & Sullivan," said Flood."Services are sold directly to the end user, and it is important thatthe company's name effectively communicates the nature of our businessto that audience."

Flood also stressed that the company's conferencing products willcontinue to be sold under the Gentner name. "The Gentner name hastremendous brand equity within our distribution channel," she said."Our channel partners equate Gentner with top-quality conferencingproducts supported by a dedicated, responsive technical services team.It is important that we continue to leverage that name going forward inthe appropriate channels."
