Adobe Announces Premiere Pro
SAN JOSE, Calif. — (NASDAQ: ADBE) — Adobe SystemsIncorporated today announced Adobe Premiere Pro, the most significantupgrade to the award-winning video editing software since itsintroduction in 1991. Adobe Premiere Pro has been redesigned withpowerful, productivity enhancing features and advanced professionaltools including sophisticated color correction, powerful new audiocontrols and multiple, nested timelines. Optimized for multipleprocessors and hyper-threading, Adobe Premiere Pro also takes advantageof the speed delivered by the latest generation of IntelPentium®-based systems running Windows® XP to provide arender-free editing experience.
Available as a standalone product, Adobe Premiere Pro also is a keycomponent of the expanded Adobe Video Collection, also announced today.(See separate release for details).

With advancements in virtually every area of the product workflow,Adobe Premiere Pro allows professionals to render less and edit more.Premiere editors can customize keyboard shortcuts and workspaces,creating a familiar work environment. Professional features, such as3-point color correction, YUV video processing, and a powerful audiomixer with 5.1 surround sound mixing and AC3 export, round out theenhancements.

Integrating extensive hardware support and resolution independence,Adobe Premiere Pro supports high-definition (HD) and standarddefinition (SD) footage. Users can import and export a wide variety ofvideo and audio formats including MPEG2, AVI, WAV and AIFF files. Inaddition, Adobe Premiere Pro files can be exported in AAF (AdvancedAuthoring Format), an industry open interchange format, for finishingwork in other professional products.
As part of Adobe's award-winning Digital Video product family, AdobePremiere Pro provides unmatched integration with the products featuredin the Adobe Video Collection, including Adobe Audition, Adobe EncoreDVD, Adobe Photoshop and After Effects software. Adobe Premiere Pro andAfter Effects 6.0 work together to share data, making it easier thanever to work between the two applications. Users can export AdobePremiere Pro projects as MPEG2 or AVI files with chapter markers, whichwill be converted into chapter points by Adobe Encore DVD. Photoshopusers can also benefit by importing layered PSD files into AdobePremiere Pro as flattened clips, or as timelines with each layer on aseparate track. These integrated features help to create a flexibleworkflow, saving production time and increasing efficiency.
Pricing and Availability
Adobe Premiere Pro for Windows XP is expected to ship in the U.S.and Canada by the end of August 2003. Adobe Premiere Pro will beavailable for an estimated street price of US$699. Registered users ofany previous version of Adobe Premiere can upgrade to Adobe PremierePro for an estimated street price of US$199. The product will beavailable through Adobe's licensing and education programs.
