Eyeon Software Launches Digital Fusion 4

Eyeon Software announced the newest version of the dynamiccompositing and special-effects solution, Digital Fusion. DigitalFusion 4 is Eyeon’s ninth major release and incorporates hundredsof improvements and a variety of new features, including realtimecaching, floating point image processing, macro tools, advancedtracking, grid warping, and integrated scripting. DigitalFusion’s speed, coupled with creative tool sets and unparalleledproduct support, allows for maximum workflow efficiency.

“Digital Fusion 4 offers infinite possibilities for thecreative professional, at a realistic price. With DF 4, Eyeon hasachieved what most companies hope for, a strong sense of accomplishmentand pride with great people behind our products," says Steve Roberts,CEO of Eyeon Software.

Digital Fusion 4 is fully multithreaded for maximum CPU efficiencyand interface response. New Ram caching and cluster rendering provideinteractive realtime playback based on system memory resources.

The new DF 4 engine boosts the already diverse working environment, such as the new split-screen image interface and unlimited floatingdisplay views, independent color LUTs for each view and the ability todrag and drop footage directly into the flow. New floating pointprocessing increases the accuracy of color correction, enabling theartist to work well above 16-bit color depth for optimal filmintegration.

“Floating point accuracy in Digital Fusion expresses ourconcern for the needs of the film compositor. Eyeon was one of thefirst to offer 16-bit per channel processing for Windows NT, and now wecan provide even more color precision to the artist or film editor, without sacrificing system performance or memory efficiency,”says Isaac Guenard, product manager of Eyeon Software.

Digital Fusion’s new advanced features include custom macrotools that are both reusable and distributable by combining severaltools and tool settings. The redesigned tracking functions boastunlimited track points and advanced multipoint stabilization. Theflow-based 3D particle suite supports unlimited particle streams, N-GONparticle styles, improved 3D space control, and an advanced particleemitter tool. Perform grid-based image deformations with the new GridWarp tool. Improvements to Text +, DF’s advanced text generationtool, offer extensive international character support and kerningcontrol.

Digital Fusion 4 also offers advanced scripting technology, forcomplex post render composites.

Pricing for Digital Fusion 4 lists at $4,995 for the full versionand $495 for the upgrade from version 3.1. DFX + upgrades varydepending on module configuration. Digital Fusion 4 is expected to shipat IBC, September 2002. Please see www.eyeonline.com for moreinformation.
