EXAMPLES OF DUTIES PERFORMED

1. Assist in the proper preventative maintenance, repair andinstallation of satellite uplink systems. Including repair andinstallation of TWTA’s, Klystrons, Upconverters, and otherrelated RF equipment.

2. Work with cable operators and end viewers to correct authorizationand signal errors.

3. Assist in the monthly uplink testing and switchover.

4. Responsible for downlink acquisition from satellite and/orfiber.

5. Assist with other maintenance engineering including, but not limitedto, the repair of tape machines, cameras, electronic editing equipment,computer graphics equipment, monitors, etc.

6. Some Computer repair.

7. Performs other duties as needed, and as directed by yoursupervisor.

1. Education

   : 2 year technical school or equivalent experience. College degreepreferred but not required.

3. Experience

   : The successful candidate will have at least 3 years experience ina satellite television maintenance environment. Experience withDigicipher, VCII or other MPEG type compression systems important.Experience with component digital video and AES audio preferred.Extensive computer experience is required. Experience with multipleoperations system is preferred.

5. License/Certificate

   : SBE Certification and FCC General Class License preferred.

7. Skills/Abilities

   : Superior troubleshooting abilities. Understanding of digital andanalog modulation techniques as well as electronic systems. Ability towork with public and with other office personnel in person and bytelephone in often stressful situations.
