, a television post production facility, has an opening for a ChiefEngineer. This is a full time, permanent position.

Reporting to the VP of Vancouver Operations, the Chief Engineer isresponsible for the installation and maintenance of all Operation,Production and Support Equipment. He or she is also mandated toinvestigate improvements to generic equipment (R&D); look for costsavings to efficiently manage the spending of Engineering budgets, andto manage the Engineering department and personnel. In addition, theChief Engineer is required to promote and strive to improve thetechnical capabilities of the company, design plant infrastructure,maintain minimum stock levels of consumable parts, and communicateconcerns, ideas for improvements for equipment, department andpersonnel to the VP Vancouver Operations.

  • The ideal candidate will, at a minimum, have successfully completedhigh school, as well as have received additional relevant training froma recognized technical institution.

  • They will also have a minimum of ten years experience in thetelevision post production industry, at least five of which are in amanagerial or supervisory position.

  • Also, extensive knowledge of Telecines and videotape equipment (allformats) is necessary, as well as strong knowledge of MPEG and NewMedia Applications.

Additional requirements include: the ability to defuse stressfulsituations, and the ability to inspire confidence in Senior/JuniorEngineers and clients alike. The Chief Engineer will also provideeducation to other Engineers in the department.
