Louisville, Ky. (October 5, 2001) – Whether you’re thenext big thing in directing or just an average Joe with a video camera,your chance to see your name in lights may have just arrived. SouthernComfort, official tour sponsor of New Orleans rock band Cowboy Mouth,announces the kick-off of the Southern Comfort Behind the CameraContest Friday, October 5, 2001.

In partnership with RollingStone.com, the leading authority on musicand popular culture, the contest awards one winner* a five-night stayin New Orleans as well as a $10,000 budget (cost of film crew,equipment and editing is already covered) to direct a professionalmusic video with New Orleans’ biggest home-grown rock band,Cowboy Mouth. The winner’s video will be exclusively debutednationwide on RollingStone.com, offering anyone with a passion formusic and film a rare opportunity to win widespread recognition in theentertainment industry.

Straight out of the famed French Quarter, the musicians of CowboyMouth blend rock and roll with country-tinged harmonies to create agospel-inspired live show that can only be described as a“revival” experience. All four band members work assingers/songwriters to make music as hot and flavorful as a bowl ofCajun gumbo.

Get Behind the Camera:
· To officially enter, visit www.musicvideocontest.com - agree tothe contest rules and download the MP3 file of the song “JennySays” by Cowboy Mouth.
· Develop a 1-2 page (typed) creative concept for a music videoset to “Jenny Says” with a New Orleans backdrop, that canbe filmed on DV over a two-day period with Cowboy Mouth’sparticipation.
· Develop a realistic, typed, line-item budget of no more than$10,000, detailing the costs behind the music video concept. It is notnecessary to budget for a video production company, cameras, orlighting equipment, as that will be provided for the winning entry.Budgets should include costumes, permits, props, etc. A sample budgetwill be available at www.musicvideocontest.com
· Send in a demo video tape demonstrating your video-directingability (no more than four minutes long) or shoot a homemade videobringing your concept to life, giving judges a sense of your directingand camera composition ability.
· Mail in the typed music video concept, line-item budget and demovideo tape (together in one package) to the address listed onwww.musicvideocontest.com. Materials must be postmarked no later thanDecember 31, 2001.

A panel of experts, including RollingStone.com editors, willjudge the entries based on originality of the concept, creativity,appropriateness of concept to song, feasibility of budget, andfilmmaking quality of demo video tape.
