Manager, Broadcast Engineering

GlobeCast, a France Telecom Company, is the world’sleading provider of transmission and production services for televisionbroadcasters, businesses and internet media programmers. Our fast pacedand growing operation has an immediate opening in our Miami CorporateHeadquarters for Engineering Regional Technical Manager. This positionwill be primarily responsible for planning, organizing and directingthe work of the engineering staff to provide facilities design,acquisition, installation, maintenance and replacement to meet clientand customer needs, as well as FCC Rules and Regulations consistentwith company quality standards and management requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Directly supervises the staff involved in installation andmaintenance of all technical equipment. Sets highest priority on repairof equipment that is out of full service; schedules staff forcompletion of projects.

• Anticipates changes in technically related fields of satellitecommunications, television, radio, voice and data and provides inputfor the implementation of such technology.

• Demonstrated engineering and technical skills in the areas ofsatellite and microwave RF systems, cameras and other video systems,videotape recorders, video file servers, switchers, audio systems, andassociated monitoring and distribution equipment and computer basedequipment, including the abilities of maintenance and repair of suchequipment to a component level.

• Knowledge of FCC Rules and Regulations and other technicalregulations related to satellite, microwave and broadcast systems.

• Management experience in areas of project construction deadlines andfinancial budget controls, planning and organizing engineeringdepartment resources to accomplish goals and objectives and adapting tomeeting engineering related needs in a dynamic telecommunicationsindustry.

• Ability to write engineering specifications for competitivepurchasing of equipment.

Qualified candidates will have a 4-year degree in a technical fieldor equivalent experience in the areas of television or satelliteengineering. In addition, we are seeking an individual with a minimum 3years experience in a supervisory position related to satellite earthstation engineering. Must have the ability to successfully trainindividuals to maximize abilities to meet company needs. Must have highdegree of integrity and discretion, ability to multi-task, highproductivity, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• A General Class FCC license or SBE Senior Broadcast EngineerCertification highly desirable.
