Pinnacle Systems Ships CinéWave 4
Pinnacle Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: PCLE) today began shippingCinéWave 4, delivering new advanced realtime, offline, online, film, and audio capability for the award-winning Apple Final Cut Pro 4.CinéWave 4 enhances the power and feature set of Final Cut Pro 4and enables the workflow required by the most demanding film, broadcast, and video post-production projects at a price that isaccessible to the entire professional broadcast and post industry.
The shipping version of CinéWave 4 includes surprise featuresnot announced at the product's debut during the National Association ofBroadcasters convention this past April. These include realtime supportfor DV50, Apple LiveType titling, the high-quality Animation codec, video out with Apple Soundtrack, and support for up to fiveuncompressed realtime tracks (three video and two graphics with alphachannels).
Evan Schechtman, Principal at Outpost Digital said, "CinéWave'smultiple-resolution capability is ideal for our workflow for broadcasttelevision. I can take compressed animations from a graphics house, some DV material, and anything else I need to complete a client'sproject and pop it right into the project without transcoding. Thequality is amazing. We are working on a huge project that will air onMTV and they were nervous about the so-called video look. Wecolor-graded it with CinéWave 4's awesome realtime engine and theywere floored - they could not believe that we could get video to looklike that. There are no smoke and mirrors here. If you want a Swissarmy knife for video production, CinéWave 4 is the way to go."
Walter Biscardi, Creative Director, d'Arte media creations said,"CinéWave 4 is absolutely outstanding. When you start comparingfeature sets and then consider the price, CinéWave 4 isjaw-dropping. You can handle everything from DV to uncompressed in thesame timeline, giving you tremendous flexibility and workflow. The newcodecs are gorgeous; you can see a marked difference. I putCinéWave 4 straight into production. The wisdom of that decisionwas evident when the first client came back demanding to know what Ihad done to his project - it looked better than anything I had givenhim before! With its price and feature set, you would really have to becrazy not to give CinéWave 4 a look."
Andrew Baum, senior product manager at Pinnacle said, "CinéWave4 leverages the advanced design of Final Cut Pro 4 to unleash morepower and dozens of new features from the Targa Ciné Engine.Having five realtime tracks is just the beginning. CinéWave 4users can capture into DV50 and apply realtime effects to DV50 alone orin any combination with PhotoJPEG, DV25, 8, 10, and 16-bit uncompressedsources, Apple Live Type, Animation, and RGBA sources - all realtime inthe same timeline. You could spend 10 times the money, but you are notgoing to find anything close to this scalability and flexibility!"
