Canopus Expands Line of Digital Media Converters
Canopus Corporation, makers of digital video production andtranscoding solutions, today announced ADVC-500, a professional videoconverter designed for use in broadcast, postproduction andpresentation applications. Providing analog-to-DV and DV-to-analogconversion, ADVC-500 comes in a standard 19-inch breakout boxconfiguration and features convenient component video, composite,S-Video, and balanced and unbalanced audio input/output connections.Supporting both Windows and Mac OS, ADVC-500 is a component I/Osolution for broadcasters, video editors and professional AV productioncompanies.
The ADVC-500 features Canopus's DV codec technology, which is foundin the full line of Canopus DV capture cards. On the audio front, theADVC-500 supports locked audio when converting from analog to digitalfor audio and video synchronization. ADVC-500 also supports balancedand unbalanced audio for professional applications. ADVC-500 alsoboasts fully programmable PC control software for adjusting analoginput settings, such as brightness and contrast, and can operate as astand-alone device not requiring a computer while keeping thesepreprogrammed settings.
The ADVC-500 will be available mid-February 2003 from Canopusauthorized dealers for a suggested retail price of $1499.
