Call for Entries for Annual New-Talent Competition
Paris (October 10, 2001)--Milia, The World's Interactive ContentMarket Place, which takes place in Cannes, France, February 4-8, 2002,announces its international call to young creative interactivedevelopment talent around the world with the launch of its annual NewTalent Competition. The competition is designed to recognize studentswho excel in interactive content and technology development. Thedeadline for entries is December 7, 2001.
The New Talent Competition has provided interactive entertainmentand new media professionals with the opportunity of discovering thebrightest new development and research talent from around the globe aswell as offering a forum for recruiting new talent.

A jury composed of international industry experts will meet in Parison December 18 and 19 in order to select the 15 best interactiveprojects across the key Milia sectors: wireless media, interactive TV,broadband Internet, and interactive entertainment. They will be lookingfor innovative design and ideas, along with the application of cuttingedge technology to produce interactive content.
Each student selected will be invited to present his/her project ina dedicated area at the Palais des Festivals, Cannes during Milia 2002in the presence of over 7,000 international industry professionals andpress. Milia will cover travel and hotel accommodation for eachselected student.
Entry Conditions for 2002:
The project must be created and developed by a student or a group ofstudents that has attended the New Media course or the affiliateresearch program of the educational institute during the years2000/2001 or 2001/2002. The project must not have previously beenselected for a prior edition of the New Talent Competition.
This year's New Talent Competition is supported by media partners:Télérama.fr, Cre@te online (the leading UK interactive designpublication), and the Japanese Association AMD (Association of Media inDigital).
At Milia 2001, 125 projects were submitted for selection. Ninecountries were represented among the 15 winning projects, includingAustralia, France, Germany, Japan, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and theUSA.
