Cisco's Mike Volpi to Keynote NAB 2003 Multimedia World
The National Association of Broadcasters announced today that CiscoSystems Routing Technology Group Senior Vice President Mike Volpi willgive the keynote address for the NAB2003 MultiMedia World, April 7 inLas Vegas.
Volpi will provide attendees with an overview on the state of newmedia formats and broadband adoption, network convergence, copyrightsecurity and the role of government on the issue of digital rightsmanagement and on-demand streaming media.
Volpi is responsible for all of Cisco's routing and access products.Previously, he was senior vice president of Cisco's Internet Switchingand Services Group and prior to that, he was the company's chiefstrategy officer, where he was responsible for corporate strategy aswell as business development, strategic alliances, advanced Internetprojects, legal services, and government affairs. Since joining Ciscoin 1994, Volpi has been instrumental in creation of the company'sacquisition and investment strategies. Cisco has acquired more than 70companies during his tenure and he has developed Cisco's acquisitionand integration processes, which have been a significant driver ofCisco's growth into new markets.
NAB2003 takes place April 5 - 10 in Las Vegas (exhibits open April7). It is the world's largest electronic media show covering thedevelopment, delivery, and management of professional video and audiocontent across all mediums.
