Japan Wildlife Film Festival 2003 Call For Entries
The Sixth Japan Wildlife Festival will be held in Toyama from August21 to 24, 2003. The festival, held biennially since its establishmentin 1993, is going to celebrate its 10th anniversary this year.
It started in the hope that by showing moving images of the wondersof wildlife and the coexistence of nature and people, we could increaseawareness of the need to conserve the natural world. It has continuedto grow, thanks to quality films which you have produced.
The previous festival had a record 435 entries from 38countries/areas and 40,000 visitors. It is now well known amongfilmmakers and broadcasters around the world as the biggest wildlifefilm festival in Asia.
The festival also offers screenings, seminars, and symposia. Thereare active international exchanges among filmmakers and broadcasters,which we will support hoping that such exchanges will lead toopportunities for co-production and distribution.
Lastly, facilities where filmmakers can both stay and use theproduction facilities will be completed close to Tokyo and Toyama.
