Digital Anarchy Acquires Psunami For Adobe After Effects From Atomic Power
Digital Anarchy announced that it has acquired and will be takingover distribution of Psunami 1.0 for After Effects. Developed fromAreté Entertainment Inc.'s award-winning RenderWorld API, Psunamiis a tool for creating photo-realistic, ray-traced water simulationsand other 3D effects.
The agreement with Atomic Power is effective immediately and Psunamiis available on the Digital Anarchy web site for purchase orevaluation. Support and customer service will also be taken over byDigital Anarchy and is available either by phone or on the web.
Psunami for After Effects is primarily designed to create watersimulations. However, many other 3D effects can be achieved throughcontrols for texture mapping and geometric displacement. Users have theability to use multiple images or movies to displace or texture the 3Dmesh that Psunami creates. The water simulation can be turned off andthe displacement and texture mapping can be used to map logos togeometry, create landscapes, let a camera fly through geometry, andother 3D effects.
Psunami for After Effects is most well-known for its 3D watersimulations. Used in numerous feature films, it has won several awards,like the Innovation Award from CGW magazine.
Digital Anarchy will port Psunami, along with the rest of theirplug-ins, to Apple’s new OS X platform early next year.
