Marc Andreessen and Richard Parsons to be Keynote Speakers at NAB 2002

AOL Time Warner Co-Chief Operating Officer Richard Parsons willdeliver the keynote address at the April 8 opening ceremony of theNational Association of Broadcasters’ annual convention in LasVegas, while Internet pioneer Marc Andreessen, the co-founder andcurrent chairman of Loudcloud, Inc., will keynote the NAB2002 New MediaProfessionals Conference.

In May, Parsons will become CEO of AOL Time Warner, succeedingGerald Levin, who is retiring. Parsons currently oversees the company'scontent businesses-Warner Bros., New Line Cinema, Warner Music Groupand the AOL Time Warner Book Group - as well as two key corporatefunctions: Legal and People Development. Parsons is a member of the AOLTime Warner Board of Directors. He became President of Time Warner Inc.in February 1995, and was a member of the Time Warner Board ofDirectors since January 1991.

As for Andreessen, prior to helping found Loudcloud in September1999, he served as chief technology officer of America Online, Inc.,where he guided its technological direction. As an undergraduate at theUniversity of Illinois in Champaign, Andreessen created the firstprototype of the Mosaic browser with a team of students and staff atthe University’s National Center for Supercomputing Applications(NCSA).

After graduating from college, Andreessen joined former SiliconGraphics Chairman Jim Clark to launch Netscape Communications. As chieftechnology officer and later executive vice president of products forNetscape, Andreessen was the driving force behind many strategicinitiatives. Andreessen has been featured in magazines such as People,Time, BusinessWeek, and Forbes. He was the winner of InfoWeek’s1995 Industry Achievement Award.
