Picture Pipeline and Panavision Announce Long-Term Partnership

Picture PipeLine LLC has announced that it has signed an exclusiveagreement with world-renowned film and digital imaging equipmentprovider Panavision to offer its file transfer, synchronized playbackand annotation applications at strategic Panavision locationsworldwide.

Using the new service, production crews around the globe will beable to benefit from the speed and convenience of broadband, easilytransmitting film footage and collaborating digitally. Productionpersonnel will be able to drop off dailies to a Panavision location andhave them encoded in MPEG 1 or MPEG 2, encrypted at the highest levelof security and delivered electronically to another Panavision locationor to another Picture PipeLine installed facility. If transmitted tothe Panavision location, the footage can then be delivered to thedesired film location or the production staff can collaborate atPanavision facilities using Picture PipeLine’s synchronizedplayback and annotation features (voice and text).
