4,000 Pre-Register for The New York DV Show
Nearly 4,000 digital video professionals have pre-registered for TheNew York DV Show, already surpassing the organizer’s estimates.Pre-registration attendance is now expected to climb to 6,000 by thetime the event takes place, February 10 to 14 in New York City.Conference organizers Mindshare Ventures and Future Media Concepts areattributing this pre-event buzz to the quality of theconference’s technical program, the line-up of industryprofessionals scheduled to make presentations and the powerfulpromotional support of industry leaders such as event partner B&H,as well as Gold Sponsors Avid, Sharp and Boris; and Silver SponsorsDiscreet and Laird Technologies. The event is produced in cooperationwith Adobe and Apple Final Cut Pro.
“Never before in New York City has there been such a largenetworking and information exchange for the digital videoindustry,” says Rick Friedman, president and co-founder ofMindshare Ventures. “We’ve tapped into this huge pent-upinterest for professionals seeking current and objective‘how-to’ information for FCP, After Effects, Avid Xpress DVand Discreet. The conference significantly increased its reach and impact forattendees when it was announced recently that B&H, theworld’s largest imaging equipment dealer, is offering itsresources to help promote the event, and also adding a significantsales component to the show. Attendees will be able to view products onthe Expo floor, and have their orders immediately fulfilled fromB&H’s warehouse—right across the street.
The New York DV Show conference program is the industry’slargest with 170 sessions. It features 5 full-length conferences, eachdevoted to separate topics: Apple Final Cut Pro Users Conference, AdobeAfter Effects Users Conference, Avid Xpress DV Users Conference,Digital Video Conference and Discreet Fest. Technical sessions at TheNew York DV Show will cover a spectrum of topics including productiontechniques, editing power tips, special effects, cameras and decks,hardware peripherals, streaming, DVD authoring, 3D animation, audioediting and business issues. Included will be sessions on productsfrom: Adobe, Apple, Avid, Discreet, Macromedia, Media100, Microsoft,Pinnacle, Sonic and Sony.
A full-scale exhibition will be presented at the Manhattan Center onTuesday, February 12, 12:30 to 7:00pm and Wednesday, February 13,12:00pm to 5:00pm. More than 100 exhibitors are expected to be on handdisplaying their latest innovations in digital video hardware andsoftware, offering attendees an advance look at some of the tools andformats they’ll be using in the near future.
