Pinnacle Systems Delivers CinéWave on Apple Mac OS X Jaguar

Pinnacle Systems, Inc. announced the immediate availability ofCinéWave 3 with support for Apple's Mac OS X version 10.2 Jaguar.Apple has certified CinéWave 3 for use with Final Cut Pro 3.0.4running under Mac OS X Jaguar. CinéWave 3 works with Final Cut Pro3 to deliver an improved Aqua user interface, increased systemperformance and new features including more than twenty free real-timeeffects with the Pinnacle software upgrade.

Every new CinéWave system and the free CinéWave 3 upgradecomes with a set of over twenty powerful real-time effects--free ofcharge--that include popular transitions, a variety of keyframeableimage control options and a sophisticated two-way color corrector.These extremely useful tools highlight the video processing power thatonly CinéWave can deliver to the Mac and demonstrates the awesomereal-time power of the available CinéWave RT Pro configurationoption. For added creativity, CinéWave's included Knoll LightFactory software now works under Mac OS X Jaguar. Pinnacle'scomprehensive batch capture application CinéAcquire also now runsunder Jaguar and sports many new features such as audio meters and theability to import Avid bins.

Improvements to the CinéWave codec provide improved quality andflexibility that enable editors to make specific gamma and chromacontrol choices based on the needs of their project, rather thandefaulting to the application's setting. CinéWave 3 also providesnew CinéSuperSync audio capability, the result of a collaborativedevelopment effort between Pinnacle and Apple that delivers trueaudio/video sync when used with Final Cut 3.0.4. CinéWave now alsodelivers 24p standard definition support with simultaneous 29.97 FPSexternal video monitoring. Users can take advantage of Pinnacle's new10 bit SDI Pro Digital Plus breakout box with support for up to fourchannels of AES/EBU, dual SDI outputs and monitoring of analogcomposite video and RCA unbalanced audio.

CinéWave 3 is Palladium-ready, enabling it to exist inPinnacle's growing shared media topology alongside broadcast-caliberproducts including MediaStream servers, Liquid editing systems, Vortexnews system and more. Through Palladium Exchange, CinéWave canswap files with MediaStream servers allowing broadcasters the abilityto use the power of CinéWave to edit their on-air content from theplay out server. Palladium Exchange supports many other Pinnacle andthird-party products making it possible to incorporate theCinéWave systems used in graphics and promotions departmentswithin the broadcast process.
