Cinema Audio Society Awards Nominations

Los Angeles---Nominations for the Cinema Audio Society Awards forOutstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing were announced today by C.A.S.President Richard Lightstone. Recipients will be revealed at the 40thAnnual C.A.S. Awards Banquet on Feb. 21, 2004, in the Crystal Ballroomof the Los Angeles Biltmore Hotel.

Nominees in the motion picture category are:

The Last Samurai
The Lord Of The Rings: The Return of the King
Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
Seabiscuit

Nominees in the television--movies and mini-series category are:

“A Painted House”
John Grisham's somewhat autobiographical coming of age drama set in theArkansas Delta, circa 1950.

“And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself”
True story of 'Old' Hollywood striking a deal with Pancho Villa, tofilm parts of the Revolution.

“Angels In America” - Part 2
An adaptation of the much heralded stage play, centered on two mendying from AIDS.

“Hitler: The Rise of Evil” - Part 2
A profile of Hitler's life from a child and his rise through the ranksof the National German Workers' Party prior to World War II.

“My House in Umbria”
The story of a group of travelers in Italy who find solace andfriendship after being thrown together in the wake of a terroristattack.

Nominees in the television series category are:

Alias - “Succession”
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation - “Grissom Versus TheVolcano”
NYPD Blue - “Shear Stupidity”
