TV Commercial Production Seminars Scheduled in LA and New York

New York, NY-- The Association of Independent Commercial Producers(AICP) has scheduled dates for AICP's television commercial productionseminar to be offered in Los Angeles this month and New York City nextmonth. The seminar, "How to be a Commercials Coordinator...and Why," isa comprehensive course on production and on the responsibilities of acommercials coordinator, and will take place in LA on February 24, 25and 27 and in New York on March 4-6.

The seminar offers an in-depth examination of the production processand the role of the coordinator, taught by well-known professionalsworking in the field. In Los Angeles, the seminar instructors will beexecutive producer Frank Stiefel of @radical.media for the firstsession, Mark Hubbard of Hubbard & Heerdt, CPAs, for the secondsession and executive producers Ron Hacohen of BRAVO ZULU and Gary Roseof Moxie Pictures for the third session. In New York City, the seminarinstructors will be executive producers Effie Samios of JGF, Bob Fisherof Celsius Films, and Kim Uchiyama of Hungry Man for sessions one, twoand three respectively.

In three intensive sessions, the AICP television commercialproduction seminar covers:

1)"Mechanics of the Production Business" - how the industry works,the structure of production companies and the logic of thebidform;
2)"Partnering with the Financial Department" - the financialresponsibilities of the commercials coordinator, reportingrequirements, forms, legal, fiscal and insurance issues; and
3)"Pre-pro and Production: the Coordinator's Role" - union rules,working with suppliers, and production functions such as booking crew,casting, location scouting and travel arrangements.

To ensure an effective learning environment, registration for theAICP seminar is limited to 30 participants, and attendees are requiredto have a minimum of 10 hours of experience on the set or arecommendation from an AICP member. Tuition is $300. Included in theircourse fee, seminar participants receive a workbook with a full rangeof commercial production forms, and a "production survival kit,"courtesy of AICP sponsors.
