Winners of AMD-sponsored "64 Second Film Contest" Announced

AMD announced the three winners in "The 64 Second Film Contest," a test of creativity and
digital media development skill sponsored by AMD.

The contest challenged contestants to express the concept of "Waitlessness" in a
64-second short film to help showcase how AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 dual-core
processors "shatter the hourglass," by taking content creation and
multimedia performance to a new level. Today's digital content creators
are using AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processors to create more, while
spending less time waiting for their computers to render videos and
perform other multimedia tasks.

"We were thoroughly impressed by the creativity and talent of the
contestants' submissions in The 64 Second Film Contest," said Bob
Brewer, corporate vice president, Desktop Division, AMD. "The spectrum
of entries and the ingenuity they displayed raised the bar for what is
possible with today's multi-core technology."

The grand prize went to John Robson of Canoga Park, CA for his film, "At
a Glance," captures the feeling of "Waitlessness" with love at first
sight. He will receive a grand prize package that includes an editing
studio with furniture and an AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor-based
digital video/audio "Dream System" provided by Voodoo PC, with
peripherals.

Also included in the system is Nero 7 Ultra Edition, a
powerful software suite, offering both the PC and TV media management
experience for a complete digital media solution, as well as a Sony(r)
software package including Vegas(r), Sound Forge 8 and Acid Pro 5.

As
part of the package, Robson will also receive an all-expense-paid trip
to California, where he will receive a private tour of the DreamWorks
Animation studios which includes meeting an animation artist, a special
pre-screening (sneak preview) of an upcoming movie, a private screening
of his contest submission, and a signed sketch of a DreamWorks
character.

Alexander Oyler of Phoenix, AZ was awarded first place for his film,
titled "Volo di Icarus," which depicts abstract perceptions of time. He
will also receive an editing studio with furniture, as well as an AMD
Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor-based Dream System provided by Velocity
Micro.

A third Dream System, provided by ABS Computer Technologies, Inc., was
awarded to the second place winner, Steven Bastyr of Los Angeles, CA
whose short film "Change" demonstrates the power and ability to break
free with dual-core technology.

"Traditionally, processor technology has been measured in megahertz
ratings and then application performance," said Charlie Boswell,
director of Digital Media and Entertainment. "In addition to significant
performance benefits and greater creative freedom, AMD64 technology now
represents a shift in the creative marketplace in which the technology
is now more accurately measured by what creative individuals like 64
Second Film Contest winner John Robson do with it."

A pool of 28 finalists was selected by popular vote online at
www.64seconds.com.

The winners were then chosen from the finalists by a panel of judges
including Daniel Gregoire, CEO and president of Halon Entertainment, a
company specializing in digital effects for major films including "Star
Wars: Episode III, Revenge of the Sith" and "War of the Worlds"; Dave
Chaimson, vice president of marketing for Sony Media Software; Dave
Hill, vice president of technology for Sony Media Software; and Douglas
Spotted Eagle, a giant in the video and audio industries who has
received numerous awards including a Grammy, Emmy, DuPont, and Peabody.
Judging criteria included creativity, originality, technical excellence,
and the best expression of the concept of "Waitlessness."

"Each of the 28 finalists put on a dazzling display of creativity and
originality," said Gregoire. "Ultimately it came down to execution, and
that's where the talent and skills of our prize winners really shined
through. It was a tough decision, and a lot of fun. Congratulations to
all of our finalists on a really great effort."
