"We're pleased to honor the outstanding work of One Club members andtheir creative achievements using Discreet's flame and inferno visualeffects systems," says David Sampson, vice president of sales andmarketing, Discreet Systems. "By combining advertising artists'inspired talent with Discreet systems' powerful feature sets, everyonecan experience the rich visions that would appear otherwise only in theminds of a few."

Discreet's Academy Award-winning visual-effects systems have becomean industry standard in the postproduction of television commercials. The systems' ease of use and fluidity has changed the way advertisingcreative people think, since now just about any visual conceptimaginable can be easily brought to life.

"Discreet changed everything about the visual effects business,"says Johnnie Semerad, president and creative director of Quiet Man, theNew York-based company that performed all the digital compositing onthe One Show's 2001 Best of Show-winning campaign for Fox Sports."Flame is relatively inexpensive and easy to maintain, and what used totake a handful of people to accomplish now takes just one. The wholeprocess has been democratized. So now the number of double-pointedmetal pencils you have is not related to your ability to raise capitalor maintain equipment, but is instead a reflection of how creative youare."

"We're thrilled to have the One Show television winners on DVD, andgrateful to Discreet Systems for making this possible," says MaryWarlick, executive director of the One Club. "The advertising industryis moving steadily to this new format, which offers so many advantagesto videotape or CD-ROM.
