Kodak’s Third Season of “Film at 11, Lunch at 12” Seminars Begins in September

NEW YORK, September 18--Kodak will kick-off the third season of its"Film at 11; Lunch at 12" seminars for filmmakers in New York City onSeptember 24. The monthly seminars will explore topics of specialinterest to cinematographers and other filmmakers working in narrative,documentary and television commercial sectors of the industry.

“The possibilities of today’s photochemical and hybriddigital film technologies are practically unlimited,” says AnnTurner, general manager and vice president, Americas Region for KodakEntertainment Imaging division. “The purpose of these seminars isto share useful information and create an open dialogue about the artand craft of filmmaking. We are providing a forum where industryleaders and our own staff can answer the questions on filmmakers’minds.”

The first seminar, "It's in the Film: Screenings of VariousProcessing Techniques for Alternate/Unique Looks," will explore avariety of creative approaches to achieving looks that evoke a myriadof emotions. The program will examine everything from push and pull tocross processing, as well as the use of black and white and infraredfilms. This seminar will be held Tuesday, September 24 at Kodak’stheatre (suite 710, 360 West 31st St. between 8th and 9th Ave.)

The second "Film at 11, Lunch at 12" seminar will feature "TheBlow-Up: A Realistic Review of the Blow-Up From Digital Video and 16 mmto 35 mm. Representatives from area labs will answer questions aboutcosts, what filmmakers should take into consideration before shooting,and the options for blow-ups. This seminar will begin at 6:00 p.m. onOctober 29, and it will also take place at Kodak’s theatre (suite710, 360 West 31st St. between 8th and 9th Ave.).

Other upcoming seminars include a Sneak Preview in November (detailswill be posted on the news and event section of Kodak’s websiteat www.kodak.com/go/motion) and "Network! Network!Network!",a showcase of work by cinematographers and directors followedby a networking session for filmmakers who have projects coming up inthe next six months. Each participant will present brief clips followedby a reception.
