Discreet Honored for Promoting Technology Within Educational Communities

San Francisco (October 4, 2001)--Discreet, a division of Autodesk,Inc. (Nasdaq: ADSK), was presented with the Technology to EmpowerCommunity (TEC) Champion Award during a recent awards ceremony at theCongressional Black Caucus in Washington, D.C. Discreet is beingrecognized for its “excellence in promoting innovative technologyto educational communities throughout the country.” The award waspresented by Congressman Major Owens, chair of the Congressional BlackCaucus’ Education Brain Trust.

“Discreet is honored to be chosen by the Education Brain Trustand included among the prestigious list of prior winners of the TECChampion Award,” said Paul Lypaczewski, general manager ofDiscreet and executive vice president, Autodesk. “Discreet willcontinue its dedication and strong emphasis on giving schools access totechnological innovations and offering educational communities thetools they need to succeed.”

Discreet’s work in the educational community focuses onassisting schools and community-based service organizations withtechnology implementation, using tools that drive students to take anactive interest in their education.

VR Visions, a partner of Discreet in their educational outreach,also received a TEC Champion Award at this year’s event for theirefforts on a new animation and virtual reality laboratory at MedgarEvars College in Brooklyn, New York.
