EGISYS AG to debut 3D Content Brokerage database

Tübingen, Germany (August 23, 2001)--EGISYS AG has developed acontent brokerage database to provide 3D artists and content developerswith a new sales and distribution channel to sell their creations viaeither the Web or directly within select 3D applications. Additionally, textures, 3D objects, motion files and other key components for thecreation of 3D scenes will be accessible with keyword searches.

EGISYS will release its 3D Content Brokerage system later this year.It will be integrated within Curious Labs' Poser(R) and Poser Pro Pack, and will also be available as a standalone product.

The database targets professional modelers, Web designers, animationand multimedia artists, as well as the large community of hobbyistusers working with tools such as Poser. With this content brokeragesystem, all 3D content and components developed and submitted throughthe system by individual artists will be available as commercialofferings or shareware to the entire 3D community.

"The 3D Content Brokerage system allows Poser users to not onlyupload their 3D components to the content server directly from withinPoser, but also access a searchable content database for new 3Dobjects," says Wolfgang Eichner, CEO of EGISYS AG. In addition touploading files to the database, contributors will be able to create anaccount to track content sales and capture revenue. Users can purchase3D models directly on the Internet from within Poser, or from other 3Dtools as additional third-party applications integrate with thedatabase.

Registered users will be able to log into the Content BrokeragePortal, search for specific pieces to download, and upload their owncreations. The database will work with a browser and the prototypePoser client. Also, users will be able to make use of Poser scenes as aportal to deliver custom content to NewTek's LightWave(TM), Discreet's3ds max(TM), e-on's Vue d'Esprit and MAXON's Cinema 4D through thedirectly integrated Poser Pro Pack plug-ins.

"Integration of a content database inside of Poser is a logical nextstep,” says Tim Choate, president of Bondware, Inc., and owner ofRenderosity.com, the largest Poser community. “We willcommunicate this to our affiliated artists to determine how Renderositymight help them take advantage of this new distribution channel.Combined with the exposure our artists have in the Renderositycommunity, their potential for success is even greater."

EGISYS AG says that, in the future, its 3D Content Brokeragedatabase will expand to include movements or motion-capture data, speech simulations, mimics and gestures, pose files or scripts.
