Recordable DVD Leaders Plan for ISV Meeting at Comdex

Santa Clara, CA (November 5, 2001) - The Recordable DVD Council(RDVDC), a coalition of nearly 75 leading DVD technology developers andusers, today announced that it will host a half-day ISV conference onNovember 11, the Sunday prior to Comdex. Offered without a fee to allsystem, software and solution developers as well as industry analystsand members of the press, the conference will be held from 1:00 to 4:00p.m. at the Las Vegas Hilton, Ballroom D. DVD technology discussionswill include all DVD Forum-approved recordable DVD formats--DVD-RAM,DVD-R, DVD-RW, and will span the complete range of audio, video andPC-based applications.

During the afternoon event, executive members of the council willdiscuss in detail the current state of recordable DVD technologies, theresolution of drive/player compatibility issues, the state of copyrightprotection and the industry's international product verificationprogram. Koo emphasized that since the meeting is open to all softwareand solution suppliers, companies and individuals wishing to attendshould pre-register for the ISV Meeting because space will belimited.

Conference attendees will also be provided with information on theprogram the RDVDC has developed and funded to expand the recordable DVDmarket worldwide. Program plans include outreach activities at majortrade shows such as Comdex and information exchange among councilmembers, as well as business and consumer educational/ informationalprograms.
