Thomson Expands Visual Effects Services at Technicolor

Thomson, as part of its Digital Media Solutions growth strategy, announced the continued expansion of Visual Effects services at its Technicolor Creative Services’ Hollywood facility (formerly known as Complete Post). This includes the addition of three new discreet Flame, Inferno and Mac G4 VFX suites. Part of Thomson’s Content and Networks group, Technicolor Entertainment Services is a leading provider of end-to-end post-production and distribution services to content providers.



Thomson recently hired Rick Kerrigan as the new visual effects executive producer. Kerrigan’s hiring follows the addition, in 2002, of the Emmy Award-winning VFX team of Paul Hill, Steve Fong and Greg Rainoff.



Technicolor’s Visual Effects offering includes: 2D compositing, film scanning and recording, color-correction of plates, and 3D services through its relationship with Eden FX, for broadcast, cable features and theatrical feature films.



Kerrigan comes to Technicolor as an industry veteran with more than twenty years of visual effects experience. He most recently served as the Vice President of Visual Effects at Encore Visual Effects in Hollywood.
