Panasonic's AG-HPX170 makes a good argument for becoming an all-around run-and-gun camcorder. Solid-state recording to P2 cards means no moving parts to go loose, for example. Chicago-based Zacuto already offers sturdy, well-machined aircraft-alloy rigging kits for a number of cameras, so adding on nine kits aimed at delivering more options to shooting with the HPX170 makes sense. The Docu kit (pictured), for example, creates a tripod mount that allows you to add a follow focus, a matte box, and an onboard monitor via a Zamerican articulating arm. Other kits add features such as a handheld shoulder mount, power systems to power monitors, hard drives, and camera light rigging.
