Visit a few colorists' suites and look at how the lighting and walls around the monitors offer a pleasing wash of low-level light over neutral colors. Such lighting and minimal color are on-the-job necessities to fight eye fatigue while minimizing conflicting colors. That's the idea behind CinemaQuest's Ideal-Lume, a line of 6,500K video bias lighting fixtures. When placed behind a plasma or LCD monitor, the light fixtures deliver about 10 percent of a typical screen's brightness, while the 6,500K lamps match a monitor's average color temperature.
