VBrick has introduced a capability in its WM Appliance that opens up new ways to transmit video across a corporate video infrastructure. The network video device's new Reflector functionalities allow corporate video departments to broadcast one Windows Media stream across a low-bandwidth WAN link to a second VBrick appliance at a branch office, which then retransmits the stream live to unlimited viewers on that network. An optional hard drive allows offices to record and replay video programs. Streaming rates can range from 20Kbps to 4Mbps. Many corporations employ two appliances, one configured for employees within the enterprise (high bit rate) and one set at lower bit rates for remote employees.
