Fabrik''s Duo Pro Drive adds an interesting twist by selling its combo USB 2.0 and 3Gbs eSATA drives bundled with local and web-based backup. Fabrik should know backup; the company includes veterans from Maxtor, which first popularized simple-to-use backup gear in 2001 with its OneTouch line. The RAID 0- and RAID 1-capable Duo Pro drive (Fabrik also makes non-RAID versions) includes a thermostatically controlled fan, power surge protection, and a stackable design. Its eSata II write speed is rated at 856Mbs. After a one-time setup process, the drive automatically backs up new/changed files every 2 hours either locally or to Fabrik''s web-accessed server farm.
