150in. plasma screen
While LCD screens have been taking market share from plasma displays, sheer size is one aspect in which plasma still shines. For one thing, as displays get larger, plasma can still offer speedy response time across a larger area, while LCD screens start to show image lag. Panasonic became the leader in large plasma displays with the announced introduction of its 150in. (that's 12 1/2ft.) model at CES 2008. While the screen plays back HD-resolution images, its actual pixel size is a considerable 4096×2160. Another prototype at CES 2008, a 50in. plasma, is one-fourth as thin and about half the weight of current models.
