UltraThin 1.5
Thin is in. While LCDs have thinned down over the past few years, now it's plasmas' turn. At September's CEDIA Expo, Hitachi demo'd a prototype model in its UltraThin 1.5 line — as in 1.5in. deep. This is pretty remarkable in plasma display panel (PDP) technology; the company claims this is about one-third the depth of other plasma displays. Due to deliver next year, the product will offer in plasma technology what the company has already created in LCDs: even smaller, .75in. displays that are said to be one of the company's most popular introductions.
