Audio on location, for only a few days or for a permanent installation, just seems to get more complex with the need to connect more products from a variety of manufacturers. Aviom already addressed audio networking with its A-Net audio transport protocol. Now the company has added the Pro16 series output module — the AN-16/o v.4 — which is said to be flexible enough to work with consoles, amplifiers, powered loudspeaker systems, and recording devices from a variety of manufacturers who often offer widely diverging signal-level requirements. Each pair of channels on the 1RU rackmount 16-channel digital-to-analog converter has a four-position output-level switch with settings for +24dBu, +18dBu, and +4dBu line-level, or mic-level output.
