Viewing and editing the growing number of formats proliferating these days takes more than just having the latest NLE program. Calibrated Software feels your pain, and it has recently released a family of cross-platform tools aimed at streamlining and speeding up the process of viewing and using HD and other video files within a variety of postproduction systems and editing apps.

The programs include Calibrated{Q} MXF Import (a QuickTime plug-in that accelerates the editing process for Final Cut Studio users by enabling native importing and playback of MXF files); Calibrated{Q} MP4-EX Import (another QuickTime plug-in, this one offering native import and playback of MP4 files from JVC ProHD GY-HM700 and Sony XDCAM EX cameras); and Calibrated{Q} Decode codecs (allows viewing and sharing of QuickTime movies on Mac and Windows systems without having specific editing software installed).
