The ability of a single board to decode and output multiple video streams can save in cost and power requirements. Vela's new entry-level CineView HD LE decoder is a half-length, PCIe card that offers multi-program decoding; users can output up to nine channels of SD or two channels of HD content. Vela specs the 4:2:0 card for digital sign applications, such as showing multiple panes of content or graphics on a single screen. New DVE capabilities allow decoded channels to be layered as picture-in-picture (PIP). This allows users to place one video clip over another video clip, with both clips playing together. Other features include frame-accurate playback, pause, fast-forward, and slow motion.
