The new version 2 of Color Finesse from Synthetic Aperture solves that quandary. While it's still available as a plug-in for programs such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Final Cut Pro, version 2 runs as a standalone app. Unique features of this version include a full project timeline, the ability to import and export Final Cut Pro XML sequences, and three-up and single frame mode to show grading in the context of adjacent clips.
