Shoot Tools — Rycote

All microphones face the problem of wind noise during location
shoots. For anyone who's gone on a few news or documentary shoots, the
familiar Rycote wind-blocking devices — either fur-covered
or “zeppelin” microphone windscreens — work with
handheld and boom-style mics. But now the UK-based company offers
Mini Windjammers, smaller coverings for on-camera DV
microphones. A Mini Windjammer is a simple lined fur cover that fits
over the microphone directly. According to the company, some microphone
designs are more susceptible than others, but it is always essential to
use a wind-noise reduction system — a wind-gag — whenever
there is any amount of wind or air movement.
