With IEEE1394-based products proliferating, it's important to find a simple way to switch among FireWire-enabled gear. SignVideo's IE-6 6×1 FireWire Switcher allows you to move between six ports via a simple button push, a much easier process than constant cable-swapping. Each connection is a six-pin type, and works when connecting to four-pin FireWire as found on video cameras and DV decks if you use a six pin to four-pin FireWire cable. The switcher is a passive device, which means it may or may not work if you attempt to switch live signals.
