Although ATI and Nvidia continue battling over leadership in the video graphics card market, flat-out 3D effects speed isn't the only game in town. Case in point: Matrox Graphics, which has earned a rep as a provider of stable, reliable multi-monitor video cards. Earlier this year, the company shipped the Parhelia APVe, its first PCI Express (PCIe)-based graphics card. Matrox calls the APVe an industry first, because it delivers dual-display plus HDTV output from a single graphics card. The 128MB Parhelia APVe offers resolutions up to 1920×1440 per display and Dual-DVI technology for resolutions up to 1920×1200 per digital flat panel.
