If you want to put a camcorder in a hard-to-reach area, you'll want some form of remote control. Manfrotto's 521PRO remote control for Sony and Canon MiniDV might be a solution. Designed to work with LANC-enabled camcorders (LANC is a Sony-designed interface protocol), the 521PRO allows the shooter to manipulate zoom, focus-in, focus-out, record/stop, and power controls.
