While PCs moved to the speedy new PCI Express (PCIe) bus earlier this year, there was no word whether or when Macs would gain this successor to the aging PCI bus. Now, with the recent release of the latest-gen Apple Power Macs, AJA Video debuted a PCIe version of its dual format KONA LH, the KONA LHe. The LHe is a 10-bit, uncompressed SD/HD QuickTime capture card. Its analog features cover component/composite/S-Video and HD analog component-only. Other features include hardware acceleration for DVCProHD, HDV, and Dynamic RT Extreme; SDI or HD-SDI input, two independent SDI/HD-SDI outputs; two-channel AES and eight-channel embedded audio; HD/SD Genlock; and RS-422 machine control.
