Fiber-optic transmission is often the best way to move video around, but until recently the technology has been bulky and costly. Telecast Fiber's Rattlers, a new line of miniature fiber-optic serial digital video transmission modules, address these setbacks. At 3in., the tiny modules can be deployed almost anywhere. Rattlers allow you to transmit 19.4Mbps SMPTE 310M; 143Mbps to 540Mbps SMPTE 259M; 1.5Gbps SMPTE 292M HDTV; and DVB/ASI. The modules are inter-operable with Telecast's Python series and the Viper I and II series frames and modules, allowing you to create a wide variety of network topologies.
