Lower-cost HD editing

Although HDV editing now comes with a lower start-up tab, some ofthe first NLEs don't support all the techniques editors have grown usedto in the latest SD NLEs. Canopus claims it delivers thoselonged-for tools with Edius HD. This resolution-independentsoftware and hardware combo allows editing of Sony's higher-qualityHDCAM format. Canopus claims the new HD NLE won't be expensive, whileoffering a realtime turnkey editing solution built around the company'scodec expertise. Besides a newly designed HD-SDI card, Edius HDincludes new Edius Pro video editing software with realtime HDcapabilities, mixed SD and HD editing on the timeline, and Canopus'advanced HD codec technology.
