Products: Focus Enhancements

Panasonic continues to work out deals with third parties to support its soon-to-release AG-HVX200 DVCPRO HD P2 handheld camcorder. At IBC, the company announced that Focus Enhancements will develop its portable FireStore DTE recorders to work with that breakthrough HD camcorder, as well as other Panasonic DVCPRO and DVCPRO 50 models.

The FireStore recorder, expected to price less than $2,000, ships next March. It's a smart move for Panasonic, as some worry that the HVX200's P2 RAM memory — its slated recording medium — will make the initial package a bit pricey.
