Meridian Technologies Unveils New Fiber-optic Transmitter and Receiver

Meridian Technologies DigiView DVI/RGsB/RGBHV fiber-optic video transmission system

Meridian Technologies has unveiled a new professional-grade DVI/RGsB/RGBHV fiber-optic video transmission system as part of its DigiView series products for the pro AV market.

Some of the unique features include realtime video transmission over one multimode fiber; DVI, RGBHV and RGsB available in the same module; auto-select resolution and refresh rates up to 1600x1200 at 75Hz; RGB-DVI and DVI-RGB signal conversion; and an optional DDC (Data Display Channel) interface. Other versions support audio, data, keyboard, and mouse channels. These units are available in either standalone or rackmount configurations.

This state-of-the-art, cost-effective, high-performance transmission system transmits fully compliant DVI, RGsB, or RGBHV signals over one multimode fiber. Since it transmits signals in realtime, no video information is lost, making this a perfect solution for dynamic video signals with crystal-clear video and no color pixel skewing. Rhis system has both DVI and RGB input capabilities to offer an easy upgrade path from RGB to DVI systems with the same modules. The user can further enhance video performance with the use of the computer''s USB interface to make fine adjustments to the monitor''s color, brightness, sharpness, etc. An optional DDC back channel is also available.

Applications include technology courtrooms, medical and MRI displays, air traffic control systems, military information displays, videowalls, and concert and sporting event video displays, among others.
